Meet Market Adventures Best Practices & Safety Tips

MMA takes our members’ safety and privacy very seriously when it comes to online dating. We encourage our members to be proactive in protecting themselves from the inherent dangers of online dating. The basis of our company is to give people a safe and fun atmosphere to meet new singles through our events, online dating and travel opportunities. Below are some recommendations on how you can protect yourself while socializing with other singles.

Safety Tips for Meeting Singles Online:

Always maintain caution when communicating with strangers online. It is important that our members use discretion when releasing personal information to other members until a certain amount of trust and comfort has been established. In any instance where a member feels unsafe, it is recommended that they cease communication and report any misbehavior to the Meet Market Adventures staff.

The best practice for ensuring your personal safety when communicating with a stranger is to exercise caution. Below are some helpful tips which can help to protect you:

There is certain personal information that you should never include in your internet profile or your initial e-mail messages. This information includes:

  • Phone number.
  • Home address.
  • Place of work.
  • Financial information such as credit card number or bank information.

Cease communication with anyone who asks you for personal or financial information or attempts in any way to trick you into revealing it.

Safety Tips for Meeting Singles Offline:

Meet Market Adventures is unique in that it offers safe, public and social scenarios for singles to meet and interact. Our friendly and qualified staff are ALWAYS present at all of our events to ensure that they are being run in a fun, interactive and safe manner. If you feel apprehensive about arranging a one-on-one meeting with another member, why not arrange to meet at one of MMA’s events? Arranging your meeting at an MMA event not only increases your safety but it would also include facilitated interaction and socialization, participation in a unique and exciting event, as well as no commitment in case things are not going as well as you would hope.

When meeting singles in person outside of MMA Events, there are a few simple rules to ensure your personal safety:

  • When meeting for the first time, make sure that meeting location is in a populated and public location. Never arrange for a meeting in a private or remote location.
  • Let a family member or friend know of your plans and the location/time of your planned meeting.
  • Make sure to bring your mobile phone with you and that it is turned on.
  • Stay sober – make sure your judgment is not impaired so that you don’t make a decision you could regret.
  • Arrange for your own travel to and from the first meeting. Do not rely on your date to pick you up or drop you off on your first date.
  • Don’t leave personal items unattended – this will reduce the risk of having your personal information stolen.
  • If you drink, keep your drink with you so that it can’t be tampered with.

Scammers and Spammers:

At Meet Market Adventures, we have a strict no-tolerance policy for online spammers and fake profiles. Once we have discovered a spammer or fake profile, we make every effort to remove them from our member registry as soon as possible.

Here are some common red flags that indicate that you might be communicating with a scammer. Beware of any user who:

  • Sends an initial message that contains numerous spelling and/or grammatical errors.
  • The user includes their email address, asks for your email address, or asks for your Instant Chat ID in their first message.
  • Asks you for money.
  • Disappears from the website, then returns soon after with a different user name.
  • Claims to be recently widowed.
  • Asks for your address for the purpose of sending gifts.
  • Claims to be from your town or city, but is currently travelling, living or working abroad.
